Dr. Susan Cooke has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. After vet school, Dr. Cooke and her husband returned to Washington, D.C. where they met as undergraduates at Georgetown University.  She lived and practiced in Washington, D.C. with her husband, 4 children and the "urban zoo" (2 cats, a hamster, a gerbil, a turtle and occasional other "fosters").

The Cookes moved to beautiful Round Hill, VA in 2010 and everyone is enjoying the rural setting. New additions to the Cooke family include our sweet Newfoundlands Annie and Patsy Cline, 5 chickens, an ornery rooster, 3 bunnies, a chinchilla and 9 adorable pygmy goats. In addition to small animal medicine, Dr. Cooke worked as a staff Veterinarian for the National Aquarium Institute while living in D.C.  She is a member of the D.C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine for which she served as President for 2011-2012 and is a member of the AVMA, DCVMA and NVVMA.
